Which Checkmate Creative wrestling game should you play?

Checkmate Creative has made six pro wrestling general manager games since 2018. Three are on the stores today. Here is how they compare, and which one to start with.

Start Here

1. Eras of Wrestling (2026)

Our newest and deepest game. Five eras of wrestling history in one promotion, hundreds of original characters with full voice-overs, animated show outcomes, feuds, factions, titles, tournaments, battle royals, a Hall of Fame and a live leaderboard. If you want the full booking-sim experience on a phone, this is the one. Free on iOS and Android.

2. Modern Mania Wrestling GM (2022)

The card-game take on booking, set in the modern era. Faster to pick up than Eras, with roster customization, factions, feuds, rankings, title histories and year-end awards. Best if you want a lighter session or the modern-day scene. Free on iOS and Android.

3. 80s Mania Wrestling Returns (2018)

Where it began. A booking sim and collectible card game set in the 80s and 90s, with the studio's biggest community: a fan forum that has run for close to ten years. Best if you want the retro flavor or the community. Free on iOS and Android.

The studio's earlier games (no longer on the stores)

Modern Mania Wrestling, 80s Mania Wrestling 90s Xtreme, and the original 80s Mania Wrestling. Their ideas live on in the three games above.

Which one?

New to booking sims: Eras of Wrestling. Want quick card-game sessions: Modern Mania Wrestling GM. Want the 80s and the old-school forum crowd: 80s Mania Wrestling Returns.
